Zoology

Scope of zoology:

Study of Animal biology is all its aspects, from cell to populations and from   Neurones to behaviour.

Aims:

To train Students in a wide range of science-based skills that provide the learning base for future careers in disciplines such as health science, agriculture, environmental management, one emerging biotechnologies.

Objectives:

• To provide a strong foundation for a better understanding of current devices in Zoology & its practical significance.
• To inculcate critical thinking & Analytical Skills to enable students to pursue their studies research in life sciences or related fields of zoology.
• To provide practical knowledge of applied aspects of Zoology which can help the students for Self-Employment opportunities in Aquaculture, Sericulture & Vermiculture.
• Organize extension activities for students.
• To conduct field studies & different projects of Local & Global interest.

Outcome:

At the end of course students should be able to

• Think critically in terms of their learning.
• Evaluate critically the literature.
• Assess and implement the practical techniques necessary to solve a particular biological problems.
• Communicate with experts seen experts audience through poster displays, seminar presentations project works, essays etc.

Innovative practice of Dept:

• The dept will help the students to transfer their scientific knowledge from lab to fields providing field training for the Economic Improvement of Farmer’s & Weaker Section of Society. (Sericulture, Apiculture, Vermiculture etc.)
• Modernization of the Present Museum.
• Organize workshop for farmers top help them to start small scale industries like Sericulture.

Quality Policy Dept:

• Giving research oriented knowledge to the pupil by involving them in Seminars, workshops conference etc.
• Conducting educational tools to various places to gain the knowledge of habit and Habitat of wetland Birds.
• Giving exposures to the students by visiting bird sanctuary every year, Govt. Fish found.
• To create awareness of IN SITU conservation of wild life.
• To celebrate various days like World Cancer day, World Heart day, World Snake day and create interest in students to be the part of this living world & conserve its resources for betterment.

History Of Department

      Azad then Aurangabad college for women had into deed science facility in 1990 at junior level. Biology was one of the subjects. Further in 1993 this college has started the senior college with chemistry, Botany, Zoology. In 1995 our college has produced first batch of the students. In 1998 our college received grants from the Govt. of Maharashtra.

The Department has well equipment instrument at present in department four teachers are serving department has always seen 100 on results.
